This work was written in 1984 by request of Marcelo Kayath to whom it is dedicated. The world premiere took place at Purcell Room in London, by Kayath. The work is based in a motif exposed at the begining of the Prologo. This short motf it is the basis of the whole work and is extensively developped and transformed by the composer on the Toccata which is very virtuosistic a hommage of Nobre to the inate virtuosistic playing of Marcelo Kayath.
