This recording has been slowed down to recreate what many believe is the actual sound of the original performance. I find these modified recordings to be much more realistic and nuanced than the recordings as they sound more realistic than the sped-up recordings. I have listened to the recordings at the regular (fast) playback speed for over 40 years and I feel that this slowed-down recording is very satisfying. His voice and tempo are more real, not like a cartoon as they seem in the sped-up versions. I wish to offer these slowed-down recordings as an alternative to what we have all heard in the past. There is much controversy over the notion that the recordings were purposely pressed using a faster speed. The Rolling Stones even noticed that some of their work was released at a faster speed. It is not uncommon. If you are interested there is much info on the web about the real voice of Robert Johnson so check out what people are saying. I plan to offer the entire archive of his work slowed down if people are interested in it so please let me know. I do not wish to offend anyone, nor revise the past with this project so please don't be mad at me if this offends you. I mean no harm in this so please be nice.
