Napoléon Coste’s „Le Zuyderzée“ op. 20 from a Coste CD recorded by Brigitte Zaczek in honour of the composer’s 200th anniversary in 2005, using a Heptacord (7 string guitar) by Lacote (Paris 1855) - similar to Coste’s own instrument.

Brigitte Zaczek’s program notes: »Le Zuyderzee« describes a landscape and nature in a romantic vein. The Zuiderzee – today an inland sea called Ijsselmeer – was in Coste’s time notorious for dangerous storms. The piece accordingly begins in a stormy mood, to the extent this can be conveyed by the discrete resources of the guitar. But soon the waves subside.
