Like the Seahorse, the Leafy Sea-dragon earned it’s name with its resemblance to another creature, in this instance the mythical dragon. This remarkable fish is found along the southern coast of Australia and has seaweed-like protrusions over it’s entire body. Along with its abilities to both float effortlessly in the water and change the colour of its body, the Leafy Sea-dragon has an effective camouflage which creates a convincing illusion.
