Brandon J. Acker performing a great fantasy using various themes from Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata. Arias quoted include "Addio del passato" (Farewell to my past), "Un di felice eterea"(One happy, heavenly day, your image appeared before me) and "Sempre libera" (Always free).
The opera culminates in one magical melodic theme(presented here in harmonics): "Di quell'amor, quell'amor ch'e palpito" (That love, that's the pulse of the universe, the whole universe. Mysterious, proud, torture and delight to the heart.)
There appear to be two versions of this fantasy, one by Juian Arcas and the other by Francisco Tarrega. This performance combines a little of both using the source material from the opera as a guide.
Performed in the beautiful Alice Millar Chapel in Evanston, IL. 6/21/14
