This piece is the masterful transformation in poetry and music of the impact that the story of the suicide of the Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni had on its authors. This story came to the pianist and composer Ariel Ramírez through his father, who had been Alfonsina’s teacher. He composed a piece to which Félix Luna later contributed with the lyrics.
