To celebrate the 86th anniversary of the great Baden Powell (August 6, 1937- September 26, 2000), I share another study by Sérgio Assad: BADENIANA.
Baden's legacy as a composer and guitarist is of utmost importance. His right-hand technique has yet to be studied in depth, and his contribution to Brazilian popular music through his songs and vast discography makes him a national treasure. In the same spirit of reverence, Sérgio Assad, another master of the instrument pays his homage to Baden Powell with this groovy study BADENIANA. It is no secret that Sérgio has a special affinity with samba, but here his approach to the rhythm is taken to another level as it shows a direct link to Baden's signature right-hand technique, in addition to creating a melodic tapestry that dialogues with Baden's classics such as Consolação and .
