Op.16 Trio para Flauta, Clarinete y Guitarra, II - Adagio (J. Boland, flauta / J. Dowdall, guitarra / M. Mead, clarinete)
Adagio is the middle movement of the three movement Trio Op. 16 by Joseph Kreutzer (1790-1840), a little remembered early 19th-c. guitarist and composer. The piece is typical for the time opening with an extended Allegro resoluto followed by a slow second movement and a lively Alla Polacca at the close. Kreutzer's pairing of clarinet with flute and guitar although unusual, makes for a pleasing sonority.
