This song is spurious - it is not actually by Schubert. It is listed in the Deutsch thematic catalog (1950 edition) under "Spurious and Doubtful works". According to Deutsch: "The song was, in fact, composed by August Heinrich von Weyrauch, with words by Karl Friederich Gottlob Wetzel, and was published by the composer in 1824, under the title 'Nach Osten!' ('Nach Osten geht, nach Osten die Erde Flug'), together with other of his songs. It was re-published, this time separately,...
