Fernando Sor dedicated the op. 45 "to whoever has the least patience". This amusing dedication reflected the critique which the composer had in Paris in the 1830's for writing supposedly too difficult music for guitar students. The critique itself was probably justified but the complete education that Sor had in composition wouldn't allow him to write against his knowledge in music. Meaning for example using only open strings for bass lines. Uncompromising approach to music means that his "easy pieces" are not really for beginners. However for those who have "not the least patience" will have an access to his beautiful music... :) The work was published in Paris in 1831 and the complete (obviously sarcastic) title is "Voyons si c'est ça, six petites pièces faciles pour la guitare dont le but est de conduire graduellement à ce que l'on est convenu d'appeler difficulté, composées et dediées à celui qui aura le moins de patience" (Let's see if this is it. Six short easy pieces whose aim is to lead gradually to what people call difficulty, dedicated to whoever has the least patience). www.facebook.com/KleemolaGuitar www.patrikkleemola.com
