Buy my transcription here: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/... Claude Balbastre (1724-1799) was a well known musician in his days. He had a succesfull career ranging from the Organist of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, to Harpsichordist at the French Royal Court where he taught Queen Marie-Antoinette. Balbastre´s fame was so great that the Archbishop of Paris forbid him to play at certain services because the church got too crowded when he performed at the Organ. During the French Revolution Balbastre managed to adapt to the new political situation by performing revolutionary hymns and songs, and thus saving his own life.

This music was recorded at "Lokalet" at Landøy. A small island in the south of Norway. Back in 1919 (when "Lokalet" was built) the island had 82 all year inhabitants. Today all the houses are used as summer houses.
