Lightnin' recorded this song many times but his best version is the one he recorded for the Seattle Folk Society in the late 60ies. He was in exceptional form, here's his version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkYFf... You'll notice that the form he's playing is longer that the typical 12-bar blues. He does this consistently so it's not an "accident". I think the reason is that he wants to do that cool upstroke twice, and you can only do that if you prolong the progression.
