When the late Rico Stover discovered a dated published copy of this piece (1913), the mystery composer was finally identified as Antonio Rubira. The published edition is different from the more familiar popularized editions. Rubira used a more active 16th note arpeggio accompaniment. The harmonies he employs, particularly at the end of the A section, is more creative and interesting than the commonly known editions. The piece ends at the conclusion of the B section, making the form AAB. This piece has appeared under many names, on this Valentine's day perhaps the most appropriate title would be Romance...
