Pēteris Vasks is one of the most important living composers in Europe. Rooted in Latvian folk tradition and shaped by decades of Soviet-era repression, his music carries an unmistakable emotional directness — lyrical, melancholic, and deeply human. White Scenery (Baltā ainava, 1980) was originally written for piano. This guitar arrangement by Esteban Colucci brings out the stillness and luminosity of the original in a new sonic world. The Sonata of Loneliness (1990) is Vasks' central work for solo guitar....
